Frequently asked questions

What is a massage chair?

A powered recliner with motorised rollers travelling a track behind your back plus airbags that compress shoulders, arms, hips, calves and feet. Most add heat, a body scan and automatic programs. Full explanation.

Do massage chairs actually work?

Yes for muscle tension, circulation and stress — the rollers and airbags apply real mechanical pressure, not vibration. They do not treat structural conditions such as a herniated disc.

Are massage chairs safe?

For most healthy adults at 15–30 minutes per session. Nine conditions need medical clearance first, including pregnancy, osteoporosis, blood clots and implanted devices. See the list.

Can you use a massage chair while pregnant?

Most obstetricians advise against full programs, especially in the first trimester. Some women use gentle back-only settings with clearance. Trimester guidance.

How long should you use a massage chair?

15 to 30 minutes, once or twice a day. Programs cap around 30 minutes because longer deep-tissue work irritates rather than helps. More.

Can you use a massage chair every day?

Yes at moderate settings. For deep-tissue programs at maximum intensity, leave a day between hard sessions on the same area.

How much does a massage chair cost?

$900 to $12,000. Factory-direct, a capable 3D chair with SL track and zero gravity is $2,000–$3,500; the same specification retails at $4,500–$7,000. Price bands.

Are massage chairs worth the money?

A $2,500 chair equals roughly 28 studio massages at $90. If you already pay for massage or have daily tension, it pays back in months. The maths.

What is the difference between 3D and 4D?

Both push forward into the muscle. 4D also varies speed and rhythm within a stroke, which is what makes it feel like hands. Comparison.

What is an SL track?

A track that follows the S-curve of the neck and upper back and then continues horizontally under the seat into the glutes — the most complete coverage. Track types.

What does zero gravity mean?

A recline position with your knees above your heart. It unloads the lumbar spine so the same roller pressure feels deeper. How it works.

Do massage chairs help back pain?

Muscular and postural back pain, yes. Structural causes such as discs and nerve compression, no — and pressure can worsen them. Detail.

How long do massage chairs last?

Eight to twelve years with daily use. The mechanism usually outlives the upholstery, which starts cracking around year five to seven. Lifespan by component.

How much space does a massage chair need?

About 150 x 80 cm upright, 190 x 80 cm reclined. Wall clearance is 60–100 cm normally but only 5–15 cm on space-saving models. Dimensions.

What is the weight limit?

Most full-size chairs are rated for 120–150 kg. The limit protects the frame and recline motors rather than the rollers.

How much electricity does one use?

100–250 W while running, similar to a desktop computer. A daily 30-minute session costs a few kWh a month.

Are massage chairs FSA or HSA eligible?

Only with a Letter of Medical Necessity from a licensed provider naming a diagnosed condition. What the letter needs.

Which brand is best?

Brand matters less than specification — most familiar names are distributors, not manufacturers. Judge track, roller dimension, airbags and warranty. Who builds what.

Can children use a massage chair?

Manufacturers set a minimum age around 12–14 with a height minimum. Younger children should not use one; teenagers should be supervised on light programs.

Are massage chairs safe for the elderly?

Usually on gentle settings, but check for osteoporosis first since roller pressure against fragile bone is the main risk. Also consider ease of getting out when reclined.

Can a massage chair help you lose weight?

No. A session burns a negligible number of calories. Any claim otherwise is marketing.

Do massage chairs help you sleep?

Indirectly and reliably for many people. A gentle session with heat about 90 minutes before bed lowers tension and heart rate.

Massage chair or massage gun?

A gun targets one muscle precisely; a chair covers the whole body effortlessly and reaches your own back. Comparison.

What is a shiatsu program?

Firm sustained pressure held at specific points rather than gliding strokes. Nearly all chairs have it; how deep it feels depends on the mechanism. More.

Why is my massage chair not working?

Check the wall socket, the chair’s own power switch, then reseat the remote cable at the base — it loosens with recline cycles. A 60-second power cycle clears most faults.

How do I clean a massage chair?

Damp cloth weekly, PU-safe conditioner every few months. Never alcohol, bleach or solvents — they strip the coating and cause cracking.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Tell us your country and we confirm freight cost, voltage and plug type before you commit. Message us on WhatsApp with the model code.

How do I order?

There is no online checkout. Pick a model, tap the WhatsApp button on its page — the model code and price are filled in — and we reply with stock, final price and delivery options.

Not sure which chair fits?

Tell us your height, your main complaint and your budget. We reply with two or three models that actually match, with prices.
